I spent my actual birthday, April 7, Love and prayers, quietly reflecting on the past year, and praying for guidance and Fr. Thomas Paul K. Naval strength to strive to be who God wills me to be. The “Handog: A Celebration of Life” was a wonderful celebration. I shall be reporting ideally next week on the gifts we have been given in support of our projects here in the Church. Last Sunday, I received a text message telling me that the Church had been vandalized. I was so alarmed until it was clarified that someone wrote graffiti on one of the doors of the Parish Hall. What was written was very disrespectful to God.

Fun moments captured in the photo booth at the Handog Celebration.

No se puede Me gustaría expresar mi más sincero descartar que hay personas cuyo At first I was angry, but then after agradecimiento a todos aquellos que idealismo equivocado les ha llevado a me recordaron, oraron por mi, me further reflection – I also thought saludaron y me hicieron sentir como en cometer actos violentos e incluso el that it was also an affirmation of terrorismo. Today’s Readings First Reading — The Jews angrily reject Paul and Barnabas’ preaching. They then turn their energies to the Gentiles (Acts 13:14, 43-52). Psalm — We are his people, the sheep of his flock (Psalm 100). Second Reading — John envisions a great white-robed multitude standing before the throne and before the Lamb. (Revelation 7:9, 14b-17). Gospel — My sheep hear my voice; they follow me. I give them eternal life (John 10:27-30). Fourth Sunday of Easter Good Shepherd Sunday: World Day of Prayer for Vocations This Sunday celebrates Jesus as “the Good Shepherd.” When announcing this Jubilee Year of Mercy, Pope Francis focused on Jesus’ “lost sheep” parable in Luke. “[Who] among you,” Jesus asks, “having a hundred sheep and losing one of them would not leave the ninetynine in the desert and go after the lost one until he finds it?” (Luke 15:4). A reasonable answer? “No responsible shepherd who wants to keep the job!” Yet Jesus considers one lost person supremely important and suggests blaming the shepherd. The sheep didn’t “go astray,” the shepherd “lost” it. Thus, “when he does find it, he sets it on his shoulders with great joy” (15:5). That tender image of Jesus adorns the simple cross Pope Francis has always worn, the Good Shepherd gently carrying the lost sheep home on his shoulders. During this Jubilee Year of Mercy, may we, who once were lost ourselves but now are found, join Jesus in seeking, finding, and gently carrying home at least one precious lamb.
