A Blessed and Wonderful Mother’s Day to all of our Mothers here at our Parish Family of Santiago de Compostela. We do hope that you will enjoy the Special Book we have as a gift for you on this your Special Day.

Un día de madres bendecido y maravilloso para todas nuestras madres aquí en nuestra familia parroquial de Santiago de Compostela. Esperamos que disfrute del Libro Especial que tenemos como regalo para usted en este su Día Especial.

Last week we celebrated the Feast of the Divine Mercy with several activities culminating in the Church where we had the Exposition, Adoration, Chaplet of the Divine Mercy and Benediction. This was a fitting segue to Easter Sunday when we experience the Glorious Risen Lord Jesus Christ who invites us to Trust in Him that we may have peace. We have in the past two Saturdays all our Religious Education Children experienced the Teaching Mass and Renewed their Baptismal Promises. We have also accompanied them to experience the healing mercy and compassion of Jesus through the Sacrament of Reconciliation. This coming week we are having the Dynamic Catholic Event of the Best Sunday Ever and I just wish that many of us will take time to sign up and participate in this opportunity for spiritual growth and intentional discipleship. It will be this coming Wednesday May 8th at 7:00 pm in the Church. I will make this letter short to accommodate some pictures during the Holy Week and Easter. To all our Mothers thank you from our loving hearts and we all love you as they said: “To the Moon and Back . . .or maybe from earth to heaven,” for our mothers who have gone home to the Father. La semana pasada celebramos la Fiesta de la Divina Misericordia con varias actividades que culminaron en la Iglesia donde tuvimos la Exposición, Adoración, Coronilla de la Divina Misericordia y la Bendición. Esto fue apropiado para el domingo de Pascua cuando experimentamos al glorioso Señor Jesucristo, quien nos invita a confiar en Él para que podamos tener paz. En los últimos dos sábados, todos nuestros niños de educación religiosa experimentaron la misa de enseñanza y renovaron sus promesas bautismales. También los hemos acompañado a experimentar la misericordia y compasión de Jesús a través del Sacramento de la Reconciliación. La semana que viene tendremos el Evento Católico Dinámico del Mejor Domingo de todos los tiempos y solo deseo que muchos de nosotros nos tomemos el tiempo para inscribirnos y participar en esta oportunidad para el crecimiento espiritual y el discipulado intencional. PARISHES IN COLLABORATION COLLECTION May 4th and May 5th On the weekend of May 4th and May 5th, all people of the Diocese of Orange will have the opportunity to donate to the Parishes in Collaboration Collection. This collection is for the purpose of assisting parishes in the Diocese of Orange that exhibit ongoing needs that cannot be paid for by their ordinary income and have urgent needs (such as repairs and maintenance). By participating in the Parishes in Collaboration Collection, all people of the Diocese of Orange are helping one another support the works of our parishes that struggle financially. PASTORAL SERVICES APPEAL (PSA) 2019 “We Are One, Living the Gospel Message” Our Parish goal for the 2019 Pastoral Services Appeal is for at least 600 of families to pledge $133,000 to support Faith Formation, Outreach Ministries, Clergy Formation and Support and parish and diocesan advancement. Gifts made over that amount will go toward church needs and maintenance of our own parish. The PSA provides a convenient way for all of us, no matter what our time limitations, to take an active role in the mission of the church. As a guide to a proportionate gift, please consider pledging a percent of your income, or the pay for one or two hours work each month for ten months. You can submit your PSA Pledge Envelope during Masses this weekend or next, or return them to the parish office.

In our desire to serve and accommodate our Parish family’s demands for Mass Intentions, we are now open to receive three names per Mass. We hope that this will help us to remember our loved ones and their importance in our lives. The suggested donation for weekday Masses is $10 and weekend Masses is $15. 33 Days to Merciful Love A Do-It-Yourself Retreat in preparation for our total Consecration to Merciful Love Three (3) Basic Points: 1. Jesus’ Heart, full of mercy, longs to pour out its Merciful Love to all, especially sinners. 2. When sinners refuse and close their hearts, this rejection causes Jesus’s great suffering. 3. To console Jesus, St Therese asked that all rejected mercy be given to her, setting her happily on fire with Merciful Love . Retreat began on April 28th and concludes on May 31st – Feast of the Visitation of our Blessed Virgin Mary.

Mother’s Day on Sunday, May 12th is a celebration of all mothers. On behalf of Obria (formerly Birthchoice), roses will be given as a thank you for your donation to the cause of Life on Mother’s Day weekend, May 11th and 12th. Your donation will provide significant financial support for all of the Respect Life Centers and clinics which provide shelter and support for women with crisis pregnancies. Mass with Anointing of the Sick Mass with Anointing of the Sick is celebrated on the second Saturday of every month (May 11th) during the 8am Mass. Come and experience the power of faith and the healing presence of God.

RECYCLING WE NEED YOUR RECYCLABLES The Knights need your help in collecting recyclables. Your recyclables are a gift to those in need.
