Confirmation Guidelines St Anthony Parish Only registered parishioners can participate in St Anthony's confirmation program. A registered parishioner is defined as a member of a family living in the same household (same physical address) and have been registered at St Anthony's for four months or longer. All registrations will take place with the Director of Religious Education (DRE). Outside of posted registration times parents will be referred to the DRE to schedule an appointment. Parents are responsible for providing a valid baptismal record and any other requested documentation to ensure the student is sacramentally able to receive confirmation. Parents will ensure the student has selected both a sponsor and a confirmation saint name. Parents will inform the DRE if a student needs previous sacraments in a timely manner. Confirmation classes will be closed when filled at the discretion of the DRE. Students must have taken one year of religious education in the previous school year or will be required to attend a supplemental essentials class. Students must attend all twelve sessions and attend all four confirmation retreats to be considered ready to receive the sacrament. Other factors may enter into the decision to consider a student’s readiness to receive the sacrament and will be discussed with the parents and the pastor. Disruptive students or students lacking a sufficient pattern of attendance may be withdrawn from the program at the discretion of the DRE.
