PRINCIPAL’S PATCH  

VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR PARENTS of 3RD, 4th AND 5TH GRADERS To Parents of 3RD, 4th and 5th Grade Students You are a very important part of helping to prepare your child for upcoming state tests. The testing window is Monday, April 3 through Thursday, April 20. Fifth grade will be testing in reading, math, and science. Third and fourth graders will take tests in reading and math. We appreciate your assistance in making sure your child comes to school ready to give his/her best effort on each test. Below are some tips to help your child be successful: Be on time for school! (7:50) Attendance is important, but if your child isn’t feeling well on the test day, it's better to keep the child home and make up the test late rather than risk poor performance. 

Do not schedule doctor or dentist appointments during testing days.



Do not schedule early dismissals on testing days.



Be sure your child has plenty of sleep.



A nutritious breakfast is necessary. Hunger can detract from a good test performance. Every Boevers student, PK-5th, will be offered a free breakfast during the days of testing (April 3rd-18th).



Help your child stay calm and confident on test days.



Encourage your child to listen carefully to all test-taking directions given by the teacher and to ask questions about any directions that are unclear.



Encourage your child to do his/her best.

Warm weather is here and the students are enjoying  outside recess. We want to make recess a safe  me  of day for them. You can help by making sure your  child is wearing appropriate shoes for outdoor play.  Stubbed toes, twisted ankles and falls are a few of  the injuries I see when children wear inappropriate shoes. For  your child’s safety, please do not wear the following styles of  shoes to school:

I also encourage you to read the school policy regarding the dress  code at school. No tank tops or halter tops are allowed. Low‐cut  shirts or blouses; shirts which expose the midriff or back; and  pants, skirts or other clothing which expose the midriff are not  allowed. Slacks, pants or shorts worn below the hip and any    clothing which reveals undergarments should not be worn at  school. For a complete descrip on of the dress code, please read  school policy, 5060 in your student handbook.

INFORMACION MUY IMPORTANTE PARA PADRES de ESTUDIANTES en 3RO, 4TO Y 5TO

Para padres de estudiantes en 3RO, 4to y 5to Grado Usted es una parte muy importante para ayudar a su hijo/a preparase para los proximos examenes estatales. Los examenes seran entre el Lunes, Abril 3 asta Jueves, Abril 20. Quinto grado tomara examen de lectura, matematicas, y ciencias. Los estudiandes de tercer y cuarto tomaran examen de lectura y matematicas. Agradecemos su ayuda para asegurarnos de que su hijo vaya a la escuela listo para dar su mejor esfuerzo en cada prueba. A continuación se presentan algunos consejos para ayudar a su hijo a tener éxito:

¡Llega a tiempo a la escuela!(7:50) La asistencia es importante, pero si su hijo/a no se está sintiendo bien el día del examen, es mejor mantener al niño/a en casa y hacer la prueba más tarde en lugar de arriesgar un mal desempeño. 

No programe citas al doctor o al dentista durante los dias de examen.



No programe los despidos anticipados en los dias de examenes.



Asegurese de que su hijo/a tenga suficiente descanso.



Un desayuno nutritivo es necesario. El hambre puede detraer a un buen rendimiento de la prueba. Cada estudiante de Boevers, PK-5, se ofrecerá un desayuno gratis durante los días de prueba(Abril 3ro-18to).



Ayude a su hijo/a a mantenerse tranquilo y confiado en los doas de examen.



Anime a su hijo/a a escuchar atentamente todas las instrucciones del examen dadas por su maestra y haga preguntas sobre cualquier instruccion que no este clara.



Anime a su hijo/a hacer lo major posible.

Rincon de la Enfermera El clima cálido está aquí y los estudiantes están disfrutando de  receso exterior. Queremos que el recreo sea una hora segura  para ellos. Usted puede ayudar asegurándose de que su hijo esté  usando zapatos apropiados para jugar al aire libre. Los dedos de los pies, los  tobillos torcidos y las caídas son algunas de las lesiones que veo cuando los niños  usan zapatos inapropiados. Para la seguridad de su niño/a, por favor no lleve los  siguientes es los de zapatos a la escuela:

Tambien les animo a leer la polisa de la escuela con respecto al codigo  de ves mento en la escuela. No se permite camisetas sin mangas. Cami‐ sas o blusas de bajo corte; camisetas que exponen el vientre o la espal‐ da; y pantalones, faldas o otras prendas que exponen el estomago no  son permi das. Mayas, pantalones or pantalon cortos usados por debajo  de la cadera y cualquier ropa que revele ropa interior no se debe usar en  la escuela. Para una descripcion complete del codigo de ves menta, lea  la polisa de la escuela, 5060 en su manual del estudiante.
