~ REFLECTION ~

Last week the word “remain” was repeated over and over in the second reading and the Gospel. This week the word is “love.” In both his first letter and his Gospel, John writes “love one another.” It is a command to all Jesus’ disciples, from the apostles at the Last Supper to all of us gathered around the table of the Lord today. To love each other as we are loved by God is what we are all called to do.

La palabra “permanezcan” se repitió una y otra vez en la segunda lectura y en el Evangelio de la semana pasada. Esta semana la palabra es “amor”. Tanto en su primera carta como en su Evangelio Juan dice “amémonos los unos a los otros”. Es un mandamiento para todos los discípulos de Jesús, desde los apóstoles en la Última Cena hasta todos nosotros que nos reunimos alrededor de la mesa del Señor hoy. Amarnos los unos a los otros, tal como Dios nos ama, es lo que tenemos que hacer.
