~ REFLECTION ~

Divine Mercy Sunday was officially established in 2000 by Pope John Paul II to be celebrated each year on the Octave Day of Easter, the eighth day of Easter. Today we rejoice in the gift of God’s mercy that Jesus offered to the whole world through his cross and resurrection. Let us thank God for that mercy and pray for the grace to extend that mercy to one another.

In celebration of National Child Abuse Prevention, the Office of Safeguard the Children is offering the 2018 Prevent Child Abuse Resource Packet. This year’s packet includes “Keeping Kids Safe” pinwheel stickers, decorations and children’s activities as well as informative articles to help parents and other caring adults learn about how to protect our children and youth. Through this campaign, we hope to provide another opportunity to transform awareness into action as we affirm every child’s right for a life filled with hope, health and happiness. Bishop Gordon Bennett, S.J. Will confer the Sacrament of Confirmation for Religious Education students from Holy Name, St. Brigid, St. Bernadette and Transfiguration churches. Confirmation robes ready for pickup from church office between 9:00am—5:00pm.
