Few people know that I am a 2nd degree black belt in martial arts (Tae Kwon Do).

Please understand that I'm not mentioning this fact to impress you. In fact, I try not to discuss it, as we are taught to be humble in martial arts. The reason I mention it is to describe the challenges that I needed to overcome to achieve this lifelong goal that I’ve had ever since I was a child, watching Bruce Lee and other karate movies. Few people know that I dropped out of martial arts 4 times, before I was finally able to achieve this goal! I started in high school, but graduated before I could achieve black belt status. In college, by the time martial arts was allowed as part of the curriculum, again I had graduated. Each time I stopped, I had to start all over from white belt status at a different school. I finally made up my mind, set my goal, and mapped out the strategy where I would not be stopped again. I found a stable school with a wellknown, established expert from Korea. I started again from white belt status, but I did not let this demoralize me. Although I had many distractions in my life, I practiced regularly, without missing classes. I was finally able to achieve 2nd degree black belt status with three special ingredients: focus on my goal, discipline and hard work. These are the ingredients for achieving anything you desire. I share this personal story with you in the hope that it may help you recognize whether you have a goal that you have not yet accomplished in your life, but still want to achieve. Find that desire, set that goal, and set out a strategy to help you accomplish your goal. Don't settle for less. Remind yourself that you deserve to achieve the goal, and nothing should stop you! Once you set your mind to it, everything will fall into place for you.

Meet Our Professional Staff: Kimberlee Fowler – Senior Trial Attorney The third born in a family of four from Michigan, I enjoyed outdoor activities, games and sports from an early age. I attended law school in my hometown of Lansing, Michigan earning Honors from Michigan State University and graduating with Distinction from Thomas M. Cooley Law School. I studied civil rights law initially, hoping to right the injustices of the world. I set out on a different work path, however, and in 1997, I began a career in criminal prosecution until I moved to Florida in 2004. Upon moving to Florida, I soon realized my passion remained in helping the "little" guy fight the "big" guy and consumer protection law was a viable option. Pocas personas saben que tengo un cinturón negro de segundo grado en artes marciales (Tae Kwon Do).

Por favor, comprenda que no estoy mencionando este hecho para impresionarlos. De hecho, trato de no hablar de ello, ya que nos enseñan a ser humildes en las artes marciales. La razón por la que lo menciono es para describir los retos que necesitaba superar para lograr este objetivo que he tenido desde que era un niño, viendo películas de Bruce Lee y otras películas de Karate. ¡Pocas personas saben que me salí de artes marciales 4 veces, antes de que por fin pude lograr este objetivo! Empecé en la escuela secundaria, pero me gradué antes de que pudiera alcanzar el estatus de cinturón negro. En la universidad, en el momento que las artes marciales fueron permitidas como parte del plan de estudios, una vez más me había graduado. Cada vez que me detuve, tenía que empezar otra vez desde el estado de cinturón blanco, en una escuela diferente. Finalmente decidí establecer mi objetivo, y tracé una estrategia en la que no sería detenido de nuevo. Encontré una escuela estable con un experto establecido de Corea. Empecé de nuevo desde el estado de cinturón blanco, pero yo no dejé que esto me desmoralizara. Aunque tenía muchas distracciones en mi vida, yo practicaba regularmente, sin faltar a clases. Finalmente fui capaz de alcanzar el nivel de cinturón negro de segundo grado con tres ingredientes especiales: concentración en mi meta, la disciplina y el trabajo duro. Estos son los ingredientes para lograr cualquier cosa que desees. Comparto esta historia personal con usted con la esperanza de poder ayudarle a reconocer si usted tiene una meta que aún no ha logrado en su vida, pero que todavía quiere lograr.
