Menu March Breakfast Monday: Fruit cup/and or juice, WG cereal, Cheese Stick, and milk Tuesday: Fruit cup/ and or juice, WG crackers, Yogurt and milk Wednesday: Fruit/and or juice,WG muffin or bagel, Cheese stick and milk Thursday: Fruit/and or juice, WG granola bar or WG crackers, Yogurt and milk Friday: Fruit/and or juice, WG cereal, Cheese stick and milk *Hard boiled eggs are now an option on Wednesdays

Beginning Monday students in grades 3-8 will be taking the Forward Exam, the State of Wisconsin standardized test. The goal is to have all testing complete by spring break. Please ensure your child is well fed, rested and in school daily from March 19-28. As a reminder, all students will be administered the test. If you choose to opt your child out of the test, this must be sent to me in writing.

We still have some time left during lent for prayer, fasting and almsgiving. We have raised just over $200 for the chapel. I KNOW we can do much better than that! Money collections are on Monday.

Wisconsin Forward Exam - Spring 2018 It is that time again. It is time for schools all over the state of Wisconsin to administer the Wisconsin Forward Exam. The Wisconsin Forward Exam is designed to provide feedback on how a student is progressing in relation to the State Academic Standards. All students in Grades 3 - 8 participate in assessments in the areas of English Language Arts and Math. Additionally, students in Grades 4 and 8 participate in assessments in the areas of Science and Social Studies. The Wisconsin Forward Exam is administered online. The testing window at John Paul II Academy begins on March 19th and will run through March 29th. Make-up testing will occur as needed during the test window and beyond through May 4th. During the testing window, please make sure your child gets a good night’s sleep. Please avoid making appointments during the testing window. Encourage your child to do their best!

CAREER WEEK April 9 - 13 John Paul II Academy will be celebrating Career Week when we return from Spring Vacation. It will be an exciting time! Classroom Guidance Lessons will focus on Careers and College. There will be fun announcements and information about educational opportunities in Wisconsin after high school. There will be fun trivia about the teachers and where they went to college. Finally, I would like to have guest speakers come to talk about their careers. While dropping off your items, keep your eyes peeled for pirates. You never know when a scalawag of Pirate will show up to take your treasure!

Box Tops for Education Thank you to everyone who participated and donated boxtops during our February box top drive. Our winning class was first grade with over 3,000 boxtops donated! First grade will be enjoying a pizza party and dress down day. Congrats first graders!!Thank you again to everyone who donated. The school earned $594.00 total to be used for classroom supplies.

Athletics 1) Attention Basketball Parents: If your child did not return his/her basketball uniform yet please return them to Mr. Andersen as soon as possible. Thank you! 2) Track Information: This year's annual track meet will be held Saturday, May 19th at Carthage College. Mr. Edwards and Mrs. Schroeder will be coaching the team and practices will begin the week of April 10th. More specific practice details to come. We are thrilled to announce that we have a brand new salad bar for our lunch program! Thanks to a grant by the Chef Ann foundation we will soon be adding fresh fruits and vegetables to our menu. Uniform Reminder Distracting hair styles are not allowed. Lately, there have been a lot of over sized bows, cat ear and other distracting head bands being worn to school. Headbands are allowed but they need to not be distracting in nature. Thank you.
