Think about this! Excused and Unexcused absences have the same negative effect on student academic performance. When a student improves attendance, they improve their chances of graduating. January 12, 2018 is a very important attendance day at John Paul II Academy. During the month of January we will be very actively encouraging great attendance. Students who are on time and present on January 12th will receive a reward. The 3 classes that have the best on time percentage and the 3 classes that have the best attendance will receive a reward at the end of the month. Remember, one solid predictor of school success is Good Attendance!

Winter STAR Testing John Paul II Academy, along with the other Siena Catholic Schools, will be administering the Early Literacy assessment and the Star Reading assessment from January 8 - January 12, 2018, and the Star Math assessment from January 15, 2017 - January 19, 2018. This second administration of the STAR assessment will continue to provide information on individual student growth in the areas of Reading and Math, and help the teachers plan instruction.

Please avoid scheduling appointments during this testing window.
