St. Vincent De Paul Society Although it may seem early, we are starting to plan for Thanksgiving. As usual, we will distribute bags filled with turkey, stuffing, and all the sides, to the many families we expect to come to us for their Thanksgiving meals. Last year we had 149 people in line for food baskets, which provided for 589 of their family members. We know we can count on you and your generosity and concern for those in need, to help us provide a memorable meal for all who come to us for help again this year. We will not be requesting turkeys this year being we receive an abundance of them from the Food Bank, but are in great need of all the sides. Please be as generous as you can with donations of stuffing, canned yams, cranberry sauce, turkey gravy, broth, canned veggies-corn and green beans- as well as monetary donations for the purchase of perishable items such as margarine, biscuits and pies. We are prepared to start receiving your donations now so we can stock up and be ready to assemble our Thanksgiving 'baskets' for the holiday. Thank you in advance for all that you will do to help us make the Thanksgiving celebrations memorable for all those in need, as well as throughout the year. We couldn't do it without you! SCB School News

The students, staff, and families of St. Charles Borromeo School send our blessings and gratitude to our priests, Father Oscar and Father Alex, in honor of Priesthood Sunday. Thank you for your service to the Catholic Church throughout the world, and to our community here. The school will celebrate the Eve of All Saints (aka Halloween) with a special Liturgy of Saints on Wednesday, Oct. 31 at 8:00 am. Come see our Saints presentations and pray a litany with us.

Virtual World Youth Day 2019 : All youth can be World Youth Day pilgrims, even if they’re not going to Panama! We invite all High School teens to join us for the diocesan celebration of World Youth Day, Friday January 25-27, 2019 in Colfax, CA. The weekend will include Mass and Adoration, live music, viewing World Youth Day events from Panama and a live feed from Panama with Bishop Soto. More information to follow. It is a day to reflect upon and affirm the role of the priesthood in the life of the Church as a central one. Priesthood Sunday offers an opportunity for priests and their parishioners to build a stronger working relationship. Together, they can dialogue to take an honest look at the challenges of the future and how they can collaborate to meet those challenges as a united force.

Announcements for All Saints day and All Souls Day / Anuncios para el día de lo Santos y el día de los Fieles Difuntos

Remember your deceased loved ones during the month of November –All Souls envelopes are available in the vestibule. Return them to the office no later then November 1st, to be included and remembered at all Masses in November. November 1st is All Saints Day (Thursday) – a Holy Day of Obligation. Our Mass Schedules for All Saints Day (Thursday) and all Souls Day (Friday) are 8:00am and 5:30pm (English) and 7:00pm (Spanish). Los sobres para pedir por los fieles difuntos se encuentran en el vestíbulo. Por favor regrese los sobres a la oficina antes de Noviembre primero y se pedirá por todos durante todas las misas en Noviembre. Nuestro horario de Misas del día de Todos los Santos Noviembre 1ro (Jueves) y de Nuestros Fieles difuntos 2 de Noviembre (Viernes) serán a las 8:00am y 5:30pm (Ingles) y a las 7:00pm (Español).
