Arrival in the morning The school starts at 7:45 Those who arrive late must register at the office before attending class. Dismissal The departure time is at 2:30. When the transportation plans change, send a note with your child. In case of an emergency, we will use the transport mode in the file. Tareas / Homework Communication/ Communication Green Homework folders and Yellow parent communication folders are sent daily please help your child be responsible with completing work daily and returning back to school everyday. You will find any notes that will stay home or that need to be returned to school in the Yellow communication folder . Encourage your child to read to you or to himself or herself for 20 minutes daily for the month of September. Please fill out reading log .Practice math fluencies for 5 minutes every night. Addition and Subtraction Charts and Multiplication flashcards are in your child’s green folder. Reading /Lectura Last month your child learned to grasp main ideas from the text when reading. This month we will learn the importance of the authors purpose and point of view in stories. This will help them identify the purpose as to why the author wrote the book and his or her point of view it when reading different types of books. Please encourage your child to continue reading daily for 20 minutes. El mes pasado su hijo aprendió a captar las ideas principales del texto al leer , Este mes aprenderemos la importancia del propósito del autor y el punto de vista en las historias. Writing /Escritura Last month Your child began to write personal narratives. This month your child will continue to write personal narratives by identifying narrative elements of writing and 6 traits of writing and applying them in their writing. We will publish our writing and celebrate our accomplishments. Also this month we will be learning to write expository writing that allows the reader to become informed about a topic. El mes pasado, su hijo(a) comenzó a escribir narraciones personales. Este mes su hijo continuará escribiendo narraciones personales identificando elementos narrativos de escritura y 6 rasgos de escritura y aplicándolos en su escritura. Math / Matematicas Last month your child learned to use strategies to add and subtract numbers using mental math, Also he or she learned how estimated sums and differences to check if an answer is reasonable. This month we will be learning multiplication strategies and ways to use distributive and associative property when multiplying. Please help your child practice multiplication facts. This month we will be learning the 4’s and 5 multiplication facts. El mes pasado, su hijo(a) aprendió a usar estrategias para sumar y restar números usando matemáticas mentales. También aprendió a usar sumas y diferencias estimadas para verificar si la respuesta es razonable. Dear Parent and Guardians We had a wonderful time at the state fair and rodeo on Wednesday September 26. Your child had so much fun learning about different insect and arachnids, farm animals, irrigation systems / water conservation and also learned where wool comes from to make yarn . The most favorite by all the students was t dog show. Thank you parents for your support for and being a part of your child's wonderful learning experiences . Queridos Padres y tutores Pasamos un tiempo maravilloso en la feria estatal y el rodeo el miércoles 26 de septiembre. Su hijo (a) se divirtió mucho aprendiendo sobre diferentes insectos y animales, animales de granja, sistemas de riego / conservación del agua e incluso aprendieron de donde viene el estambre de lana de oveja.
