A Peek At What

Mr. Hanratty (Art) In February, Kindergarten will be exploring some of the art of ancient China as well as the customs and traditions of Lunar New Year. They will be drawing dragons and coloring them with symbolic color. Ms. Fitzgerald (Music & Movement) We hope you join us on February. 9th to celebrate the Chinese New Year! Students are reminded to wear sneakers to class. If they wear boots, please pack sneakers in their book bags to change for class. This month students will work cooperatively with peers. They will learn songs and dances for the Lunar New Year. We. Are Learning

Reading

Student are practicing using all of their “super reading powers” to read bigger books.

Writing

Students are finishing up how-to books and will begin learning about persuasive writing.

Math

The students will be working on describing, identifying, and comparing 3-D shapes. Composing and decomposing 3decomposing 3-D shapes. Counting and representing quantities.

Science

The students will learn about friction and how to reduce it.

Social Studies

Students are learning all about animals.
