BIOGRAPHY Coloratura Soprano Yoora Lee-Hoff (Yoora Lee) born in Seoul, South Korea, currently resides in Dresden, Germany. At an early age her aptitude for music emerged as a pianist, she won several South Korea national awards. She changed her musical focus to the violin with instructors in Seoul, South Korea, Berlin and Leipzig, Germany. It was during her work as a violinist that her beautiful voice with delicate high range was discovered. She was invited to study vocal arts - opera at the University of Music and Theatre in Leipzig, Germany. Her first professional engagement was at the Leipzig Opera House (2002 and 2003) and then onto Saxony’s traveling repertory theatre Dresden Radebeul, Germany (2004 - 2005). Graduating in 2006, she has participated in master classes with Julia Hamari and Siegfried Jerusalem. She has been coached by Irngard Boas. Since 2005 She was singing at the Dresden State Operetta. During guest engagements she performed at the stages of the theatre Bautzen. the state opera Schwerin. the theatre Dessau. the opera House Chemnitz. the theatre Gera and others. She has performed at the International Music Festival Palma de Mallorca in Spain, The Luisenburg Festival in Wunsiedel, Germany and The Opera Festival Salvador de Bahia in Brazil. Yoora has enjoyed performing throughout Germany including since 2005 at the Dresden State Operetta, Theatre Goerlitz and Bautzen, the State Opera Schwerin, the Theatre Dessau, the Opera House Chemnitz the Theatre Gera as well as others. Performing in the “Vienna Johannn Strauss Concert Gala” she toured major concert halls such as the Tonhalle Zurich, the Residenz Munich and the Berlin Philharmonie in Germany and Switzerland, among others. During the "Vienna Johanna Strauss concert gala" tour she was singing at several major concert halls in Germany and Switzerland including Tonhalle Zurich, the Residenz Munich and the Berlin Philharmonic. Her concert experiences includes engagements in: Germany, USA, Canada, Austria, Switzerland, Hungary, Spain, Ukraine, Estonia, Japan, China and South Korea. She performed at the international music festival Palma de Mallorca, Spain, the Luisenburg Festival Wunsiedel, Germany and the opera festival Salvador de Bahi, Braz. Her next opera engagements are as Fiamerra in "Boccaccio" and as Queen of the Night in "The Magic Flute" at the Dresden State Operretta, Germany. Next concert will be at the Frauenkirche Dresden, Germany whit Bach cantata.
