Dabei mag es logisch klin-gen, dass sie auf die Nutzer anders wirken als beispielsweise das Fernsehen. Schliesslich wird der Rezipient aktiv und kann ins Geschehen eingreifen, wahrend er beim Fernsehprogramm passiv bleibt. Deswegen haben vor allem Heranwachsende das Gefuhl, mit dem Spielen mehr zu erreichen und widmen sich diesem Medium starker (vgl. Bundesverband Interaktive Unterhaltungssoftware e.V. 2011). In dieser Hausarbeit werden daher die Videospiele im Sozialisationsprozess betrachtet. Die Forschungsfrage Was fur eine Bedeutung haben Videospiele als Sozialisationsinstanz fur Kinder und Jugendliche?" wird in drei Hauptkapiteln beantwortet. Dabei wird der kontrovers diskutierte Gewaltaspekt, der durch die Anschlage in Oslo neu entfacht wurde (vgl. Fistrich 2011), aussen vor gelassen, da es bisher keine aussagekraftige, empirische Langzeitstudie gibt, die einen Anstieg oder ein Absinken der Gewaltbereitschaft durch den Umgang mit Videospielen bewiesen hat. Im zweiten Kapitel werden die wichtigsten Begriffen der Hausarbeit erlautert und erklart, was Videospiele sind, was unter (Medien-)Sozialisation verstanden wird und welche Bedeutung Vi-deospiele als Sozialisationsintanz haben. Daraufhin wird im dritten Abschnitt auf die Motive der Videospielnutzung und die moglichen Auswirkungen auf den Sozialisationsprozess eingegangen.
