The expectation is that Grassy Creek students will be dressed in appropriate school attire that promotes a positive school learning climate. Students are responsible for dressing and grooming appropriately for educational activities which follow school guidelines. Students will dress and groom themselves in any manner that is not disruptive to the educational environment or dangerous to themselves or others.

Students will wear acceptable tucked in shirts/tops in the school environment. Shirts/tops that are unacceptable: 

shirts that don’t cover a student’s back when bending over



shirts with tears or holes



graphics that “put down” school



“pajama like” clothing. (top or bottom)



sleeveless tops, see through tops, spaghetti straps, halter tops, low cut shirts, or sundresses

Students will wear acceptable skirts/pants in the school environment. 

Leggings and/or Jeggings are allowed under skirts or dresses



No leggings and/or jeggings with shirts



Students will be allowed to wear denim pants except if they have rips or holes in them



Pants must fit appropriately or pants will be zip‐tied



Shorts will not be shorter than 2 inches above the knee.

Students are allowed to wear college/university/high school/ Grassy Creek apparel. Apparel that are unacceptable: jerseys unless a shirt is worn underneath

Students will wear acceptable closed toe & heel shoes. (Gym shoes are perfect!) For the safety of our students the flip-flop style shoe (rubber beach shoes and one strap thong shoes) are not to be worn. Other unacceptable shoes are: 

Sandals



light‐up shoes

slippers or house shoes

high heels

Students are allowed to wear sweaters or sweatshirts (if there is a hood attached, it must be tucked in).

Jackets/coats will be stored in classroom closets during the school day Students can wear hats during the winter or on rainy days to school. All hoods, hats, skull caps and/or scarves will be removed at the front door. No baseball caps at any time

Students are allowed to wear small post/stud earrings Students are not allowed to wear anything distracting or disruptive to the educational environment. Things that may be considered distracting or disruptive:  bracelets including wristbands and silly bands (except for wristbands given through Grassy Creek.)  fake fingernails/or distracting nail polish  tattoos of any kind  necklaces including gold chains  make‐up except clear lip balm  facial paintings  hair accessories  painted hair colors  excessive hair designs  insignia, emblems, shirts, and other symbols identified with gangs

If any controversy arises because of a fad or some specific clothing that is being worn either by male or female students, it should be referred to the Principal or the Dean. The Principal or Dean will make a final judgment on appropriate school attire to ensure a safe and orderly school environment. We reserve the right to send a student home or ask the parent to bring a change if the student’s clothing is not appropriate. When possible the school will provide a change of clothing at school. Clothing borrowed from the school MUST be returned. If items are not returned, a fee may be assessed to replace the items.

La expectativa es que los estudiantes de Grassy Creek estarán vestidos con un vestuario que promueve un clima de aprendizaje positivo en la escuela. Los estudiantes tienen la responsabilidad de vestirse y arreglarse apropiadamente para las actividades educativas que siguen las reglas de la escuela. Los estudiantes se vestirán de una manera que no interrumpa el ambiente educativo y no es peligroso para ellos mismos o para otros.

Los estudiantes usaran aceptables camisas/blusas metidas en el ambiente escolar. Camisas/Blusas que no son aceptables: 

camisas que no cubren la espalda cuando se agachan



camisas con agujeros o desgarros



gráficos que “ofenden” la escuela



ropa de dormir (camisa o pantalón)



camisas sin mangas, con vista penetrable, con tirantes finos, camisas que no cubren el estomago o muy cortas de pecho, o vestidos de verano

Los estudiantes usaran faldas/pantalones aceptables en el ambiente escolar. 

Polainas se permiten bajo una falda o vestido

No se permiten polainas con camisas

Los estudiantes pueden usar pantalones de jeans mientras no tengan agujeros o desgarros



Los pantalones deben quedar apropiados o usaremos un alambre de plástico



Pantalones cortos no serán más cortos de 2 pulgadas arriba de las rodillas

Los estudiantes pueden usar ropa de la universidad/colegio/high school/Grassy Creek. Ropa que no se permite: jerséis a menos que una camisa se use por debajo

Los estudiantes usaran zapatos que cubran los dedos de los pies y los talones. (Zapatos del gimnasio son perfectos) Para la seguridad de nuestros estudiantes, las chanclas no se permiten. Otros zapatos no aceptados son: 

Sandalias



Zapatos con luz





Tacones

Los estudiantes pueden usar sweaters. (si tiene gorra, deben meterla en la sweater) Chaquetas/Abrigos se quedaran en el closet del salón durante el día escolar. Los estudiantes pueden usar gorras durante el invierno o cuando llueve. Todas las gorras y bufandas serán removidas en la puerta principal. No se permiten gorras de béisbol en ningún tiempo.

Los estudiantes pueden usar aretes pequeños. Los estudiantes no pueden usar cualquier cosa que interrumpa o sea distracción al ambiente educativo. Cosas que pueden ser distracción:  pulseras incluyendo las de plástico (excepto las que se dan por Grassy Creek)  uñas falsas o pinta-uñas que llama la atención  tatuajes de cualquier tipo  collares incluyendo de oro  maquillaje, excepto pomada para los labios  pinturas en la cara  accesorios del cabello  cabello pintado  diseños excesivos del cabello  insignia, emblemas, camisas, y otros símbolos identificados con las pandillas

Si cualquier controversia surge debido a una moda o algo de ropa específica que está siendo usado tanto por los estudiantes masculinos o femeninos, debe ser remitida al Director o Decano. El Director o Decano hará un juicio definitivo sobre la vestimenta escolar apropiada para asegurar un ambiente escolar seguro y ordenado. Reservamos el derecho de enviar a un estudiante a su casa o pedir a los padres que traigan un cambio si la ropa del estudiante no es adecuada. Cuando sea posible la escuela proporcionará un cambio de ropa en la escuela. Ropa prestada de la escuela tiene que ser devuelto. Si los artículos no se devuelven, un cargo puede ser valorado a sustituir los elementos.
