Jackson Youth Hockey 2017-2018 Season 8U/Mite ages 8 and under (born 2009-2013) The primary goal of Mite level hockey is to keep the game of hockey fun with a strong emphasis on skating skills. Proper use of equipment will be introduced. • Two weekly practices, one home tournament. • Cost $350/$450/$550 ($25 increase will be applied if registered after Sept 30) which includes a jersey, team socks, referee fees, coaching fees, insurance and ice costs. • 5U – (born 2012-2013 and new players) Learn to skate. Cost $350 • 7U– (born 2010-2011) Cost $450 One optional pay-to-play tournament • 8U –(born 2009) Cost $550 Three optional pay-to-play tournaments 10U/Squirt ages 9 and 10 (born 2007-2008) At the Squirt level, coaching emphasis is on having fun and the development of more advanced hockey skills and team play. Teamwork and fundamental skills (skating, stick handling, and shooting) will be stressed. • Three weekly practices • One home tournament and four away tournaments • Cost $895 ($50 increase will be applied if registered after Sept 30) which includes team socks, referee fees, tournament fees, coaching fees, insurance and ice time. 12U/Peewee ages 11 and 12 (born 2005-2006) At the Peewee level, coaching emphasis is on having fun and the development of more advanced skills and a higher level of team play. • Three weekly practices • One home tournament and five away tournaments • Cost $1,195 ($50 increase will be applied if registered after Sept 30) which includes team socks, referee fees, tournament fees, coaching fees, insurance and ice time. 14U/Bantams ages 13 and 14 (born 2003-2004) The coaching emphasis at the Bantam level is on the development of more advanced team concepts. Development of the individual skills (passing, shooting and skating) is further developed. • Three weekly practices • One home tournament, three travel tournaments and WAHL tournaments. • Cost $1,395 ($50 increase will be applied if registered after Sept 30) which includes team socks, referee fees, tournament fees, coaching fees, insurance and ice time. High School (born 1999-2002) The High School program will have a heavy emphasis on competitive tournament play. Discipline, sportsmanship and teamwork are components highly stressed by the coaching staff. • Three weekly practices • Compete in WAHL league and play additional games reaching a 36-44 game season • Cost $1,495 ($50 increase will be applied if registered after Sept 30) which includes team socks, referee fees, tournament fees, coaching fees, insurance and ice time. 19U Girl’s Team (born 1998 – 2003) The Girl’s U19 team will have a heavy emphasis on competitive tournament play. Discipline, sportsmanship and teamwork are components highly stressed by the coaching staff. • Three weekly practices • WAHL league with potential additional games • Cost $1,150 ($50 increase will be applied if registered after Sept 30) which includes team socks, referee fees, tournament fees, coaching fees, insurance and ice time. 14U Girl’s Team (born 2003 – 2007) The Girl’s U14 coaching emphasis is on having fun and the development of advanced hockey skills and team play. Teamwork and fundamental skills will be stressed. • Two weekly practices • Local and/or regional scrimmages • Cost $650 ($50 increase will be applied if registered after Sept 30) which includes team socks, coaching fees, insurance and ice time.
