Stitching Space!
First Wednesday of every month, 3-5PM (Septem-
ber 6th, October 4th). Join us in the Maker Space for fun and friendship! Bring your own needlework, crochet, knit, latch-hook, or sewing project, or you can try something we have available here. We can help each other through project blocks, learn new tips or tricks, or you can just use this time to finally get done the projects you keep putting off!
Book Discussion: ‘All the Light We Cannot See’
Tuesday, September 5th, 7PM. Read and discuss All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr. Each month, join us for a patron-led book discussion and share your insights and experiences with others.
‘Lost Legacy’ Book Signing
Tuesday, September 12th, 7PM. Local author Ralph Horner will join us at the library to discuss his latest novel Lost Legacy followed by a book signing.
Oktoberfest Celebration
Saturday, September 16th, 1PM. We will have a family friendly version of Oktoberfest at the library with a musical performance by accordionist Mike Basin. Some semi traditional Oktoberfest eats (think sauerkraut, pretzels, and sausage) will be served.

Tuesday, September 19th, 6PM. A representative from the Alzheimer’s Association will be here to present “Know the 10 Signs: Early Detection Matters.” Tuesday, September 26th, 6PM. This simple craft will use fall flowers and an embroidery hoop to create a unique decoration for a front door or inside entryway. Registration is required.
Book Discussion: ‘The Blind Side of the Heart’

Creative Nonsense
Every Monday, 6PM. Teen Open Studio. Be a part of ongoing effort to produce a library “zine,” or work on your own stuff. With art supplies purchased through a grant from the Ezra Jack Keats Foundation, we draw, write, paint, print, or other...creative nonsense.
Game Night
First Thursday of every month (9/7,10/5), 6PM. What did we do before video games? Bring in the board game of your choice, or try out the ones from our collection. Bring a friend. Bring a group of friends. Snacks will be provided!!!
Stomp Rockets
September 21st, 5PM. STEAM project: Fast and easy air propelled rocket propulsion system out of salvaged materials and PVC. The whole thing takes about five minutes to make, and then the rest of your time can go into crafting the perfect rocket...
Time-Out Bottles
September 11th, 5PM. Turn a plastic bottle into something pretty . . . a mesmerizing meditation aid . . . a glamorous glitter globe. . . a fabulous . . . eh, it’s neat. We could all use a time-out today.

Mondays, September 11th thru the 25th, October 2nd, thru 30th, 10AM. In the Meeting Room. School District 130’s “Family First” and “Cradle to Classroom,” Miss Annie offers an hour of enriching songs, games and stories. For ages birth to 3.
Board Game Madness
Monday thru Friday, Starting September 11th. Kids can play board games, puzzles, coloring crafts, Legos and more, in the Children’s Department.
14th at 5:30PM. Kids can come take part in a STEM Engineering Challenge using wooden blocks, Popsicle sticks, and plastic cups. There will be two challenges per day that kids can do in the downstairs Meeting Room.

Wednesday, October 18th, 3PM. The Insect Petting Zoo returns! The after school crowd will get a hands on learning experience with a variety of insects brought in by the University of Illinois.

Songwriter’s Circle Presents: Write a Song from Scratch in 6 weeks!
Tuesdays, 6:30-8PM beginning October 3rd. Join other aspiring songwriters for a 6-week course designed to walk you step-by-step through the process of writing an original song from start to finish. Walk in with a pen and paper walk out 6 weeks later with a recording of your new original song. No musical experience required.
