COM (DL) gave an update on the TTIP, including on the structure of the agreement and timing. [ NOTRELEi‘\$-Hi5 On H00, the EU's aim is to pursue iradaenhancing rules. EBCA listed its interests: tariff elimination across the board and as fast as possible for apparei and footwear, since the US has tariff peaks for certain textile products, more liberaiised R00, harmonisation in labelling, standards,

certification, and other reguiatory issues and IPR. Important aiso that rules will apply at sub-tederai level in the US. EBCA regrets that the US has aiways a speciai chapter on textiles and clothing in its FTAs negotiated by a special

agency. 0n R00 TPP: in the TPP negotiations the US has proposed triple transformation/yarn-forward provisions as at pesis. The US has put forward a iist of 280 products (mostiy products not of deiensive interest tor the US), for which rules are more relaxed (apparei made out of cotton is off the list). According to industry this only covers 7"?/Q of

Vietnam exports into the US whereas US Government says ii covers 40%. EEC;-it is in contact with AAFA (American Apparei & Footwear Association); some of the American EBCA members are also members of AAFA. They could foresee the submission oi a joint paper on TTIP.
