Terroni in Los Angeles Shereen Arazm fondly remembers her days working at Terroni on Queen Street West. Owner, and Arazm’s good friend, Cosimo Mammoliti could be found behind the counter frantically spinning out pizze for his regulars who’d quickly acquired a taste for his traditionally prepared pies. His Brother Vince manned the deli while Arazm did everything from making the perfect espresso, to simultaneously hosting, serving and bartending, not to mention washing the dishes. Flash forward twelve years and Mammoliti now operates three Terroni restaurants in Toronto and Arazm enjoys her explosive career with top-rated restaurants, nightclubs and partnerships nationwide. The two got to thinking that a reunion of sorts was in order. This autumn, Mammoliti and Arazm will open Terroni in Los Angeles’ Fairfax district. “Being able to bring Terroni to Los Angeles is a dream come true for me,” says Arazm. “Working there truly gave me my jump start as a restaurateur, and being in business with my mentor, Cosimo, lets me know I’ve come full circle.” The two will be joined by a third partner, food and wine specialist Max Stefanelli, who’s worked for Terroni since he arrived in Toronto from Bologna, Italy, in 1999. Also from Bologna is chef Fabio Moro who has worked all over the world in destinations including Rome, Port Harly-Yvelines and Dubai. Moro will contribute his culinary talent Terroni L.A. will offer up the same thin crust, always uncut pizza, fresh pasta made on-site daily, seasonal salads, and delightful dolci that Terroni patrons in Toronto have enjoyed for 15 years. Of course, imported gourmet goodies and Pugliese ceramics will adorn the restaurant as they do back home in all three Toronto locations. And did we mention wine? Stefanelli is eager to launch his list stacked with 200+ Italian bottles. Expect several Italian indigenous grape varieties besides Chianti and Pinot Grigio. Mammoliti, Arazm and Stefanelli are looking forward to seeing familiar and new faces alike at Terroni’s first foreign outpost located in the heart of West Hollywood at 7605 Beverly Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90036.
