IGNITE CAPITAL CAMPAIGN Our Faith, Our Mission Begins! Addressing the Short and Long-term Needs of Our Church and those God calls us to serve. All parishes in the Archdiocese of GalvestonHouston are joining together for the IGNITE Campaign. We seek to raise over $150 million over the next 4 years to prepare our faith family for the future. At its heart, this campaign is about supporting our future by focusing on our parishes, our future priests, Catholic Education and Faith Formation as well as Rebuilding in Light of Harvey and ensuring a future Disaster Fund. Please take time during the next few weeks to learn more about the campaign and the needs we will address together. Please prayerfully consider your commitment!

Dear parish family, 3rd Sunday of Easter Year C If the Lord asks us individually today, “Do you love me?” And our answer clearly is the same with that of Peter in our gospel reading this Sunday, “Yes Lord, you know that I love you.” But how true and how good are we with this answer? And what the Lord said to Peter, He says to us today, “If you love me then feed my sheep.” Although the primary meaning of this passage is that the “sheep” the “flock” is the church that Jesus now leaves under the care of Peter. But we can amplify Jesus’ statement in the allegorical sense to all of us. “Feed my sheep”, could mean for us all, “nourish and serve those whom we love.” We cannot say we love then do nothing of that love. Love is not love at all when there is no action and sacrifice to come out of that love. We cannot say we love our family and then do nothing to support, to care, and protect our family. We cannot say we love our Church and then do nothing to support and help the Church its needs. We cannot say we love God only with your lips. Love is not lip-service. In a special way, a real test of our love for the Church at present is how we concretely respond and support the IGNITE: OUR FAITH OUR MISSION. This Sunday and the next we will be hearing the final push for this Archdiocesan Capital Campaign that seek to address the real needs of the church at present and be proactive for the future. The elements of the Campaign are: Future Disaster Recovery Fund, Rebuilding Our Parishes & Schools in Light of Hurricane Harvey, Upgrading the St. Mary’s Seminary, Faith Formation Endowments, and Individual Parish Needs. This is a 4 year campaign and the Archdiocesan goal is $ 150 Million. All parishes have different goals to meet depending on its size and ours is $ 470,000.00 About 33 % of what we get comes back to us to for our specified parish improvements. NEXT SUNDAY IS OUR COMMITMENT WEEKEND. May then our love of God that inspire us to worship Him, may also lead us to obey and serve Him. And may our being “feed” by the graces of the Lord enable us also to “feed” those around us with love and care in whatever way we can do. Blessings to all and have a good week. Fr. P. Tony
