Subsonic Foundation Records proudly presents Motrade's debut album Lovers & Angels which will be released on 21/04/17. After the two promising digital only up-front releases „Together We Grow EP“ and „Escape EP“ the 12 track long album will be available as CD, Cassette and digital. Tracklist: 01 – Home 02 – Like a Bird 03 – Escape 04 – Together We Grow 05 – Bad Days & Sad Nights 06 – Kisses from an Archangel 07 – Nocturnal Romancee 08 – Say Goodbye 09 – Touching Paradise 10 – Waves & Sky 11 – At my Side 12 – Voices of an Angel Kevin & Anja, the members of Motrade produced a mixture of deep emotional sound textures, pumping basslines, hypnotic synthesizers and melancholic vocals and harmonies combined with dreamy guitar melodies and complex drum and rhythm structures that could be described as mix of Electronica, House, Bass or UK Indiedance. Over the last 22 months the upcoming duo spent over 2250 hours writing, recording, producing & arranging their first album. Over the last seven years the married couple have crossed many different genres and developed their own and meanwhile typical "Motrade Sound" using a mixture of analog and digital synthesizers as well as recording more and more real instruments such as guitars, bass or drums. The eclectic album of the Subsonic Foundation Records founders Kevin and Anja takes the listener on a journey between minimalstic melancholic textures and deep, hypnotic soundscapes. Whenever Motrade produce new music they do it because
they have a story to be told. Both had their up & downs and this is omni present in their music. The two love to be out in nature both say that nature has a big influence on their music but they also can't be without a big city they need heavy contrasts in their lifes and in their music. Talking about contrasts in their music the upcoming swiss artists agree that it's all about the balance between relaxation and tension to create good music. The dusty and raw sounding album that was created mostly at night in an intimate sphere is about shakras, mantras, inner voices, stories, feelings and experiences the two have made in the past. While their previous tracks where mostly club orientated Techno music they've now created a softer, more romantic and intimate release, ending up having a soulful album with human made errors. As they say "we didn't go for the perfect sounds but for the perfect tracks." 2017 will be the most important year so far for Motrade and in order to make the best out of it, they packed their stuff and moved to Zurich(CH)in early January. Besides the release of their debut album, they also will go on tour as a two-men electronic band and play their album live in Switzerland and Europe. Soon the first dates will be announced. Motrade is definitely not slowing down focusing on playing live. Since a while they are working on a liveset that mixes the two facettes of being a musician together - creating and performing music. From the very beginning it was clear to them that they want a live setup that reflects their production environment and now with the progress of their album and the fact that their music has more and more a band characteristic they ended up with a perfect two-men band setup featuring live vocals, guitar, bass, keys and edrum as well as 2 Ableton Push controller with which they trigger different clips but also sequence live patterns. Taking their sound to a wide range of different venues to get their music out and showcasing their talent. They elaborated a liveset that allows them to play their
tracks in a club environment using straight 4/4 Patterns and a higher BPM as well as playing concerts or even ambient sets. About: The journey of the young creative couple started in the summer 2010, when Kevin was looking for a singer and contacted Anja. Soon they have been in a relationship and started to DJ together. In 2011 they moved to Amsterdam where Kevin started his "Bachelor in Audio Production" and successfully graduated in 2014 before they decided to move back to Switzerland. Back home in Switzerland the always busy couple founded their own LLC company, started their own fashion brand, online shop, worked on the album and finally in 2016 they founded their own recordlabel called "Subsonic Foundation Records" on which they will release their album. For the upcoming year there is also another project in the pipeline, a platform for electronic music, culture and art in Switzerland, hosting a variety of events and workshops, creating fashion and offering a space for like minded music enthusiasts. The studio loving producers are already back in their studio and producing new EP's which will be released on their own label "Subsonic Foundation Records" and other labels. As a sideproject they produce also music under their Techno alias MTRD with which they released a song on the prestigious dutch Techno label "Planet Rhythm" in 2016. Kombiniert mit verträumten Gitarren Melodien, komplexen Drum und Rhythmusstrukturen welche am besten als einen Mix aus Electronica, House, Bass oder UK Indiedance beschrieben werden können. In den letzten 22 Monaten hat das aufstrebende Duo über 2'250 Stunden mit komponieren, aufnehmen und produzieren ihres ersten Albums verbracht. Über die letzten sieben Jahre hat das verheiratete Paar diverse Genres durchlebt und ihren eigenen “Motrade Sound” gefunden. Mit einer Mischung aus analogen und digitalen Synthesizern sowie immer mehr Aufnahmen von traditionellen Instrumenten wie Gitarre, Bass Gitarre oder Schlagzeug. Das eklektische Album der Gründer von Subsonic Foundation Records Kevin und Anja nimmt die Hörer mit auf eine Reise
zwischen minimalistischen, melancholischen Strukturen und tiefgründigen, hypnotischen Geräuschkulissen. Wie jeder haben auch Kevin & Anja ihre up & downs im Leben welche sie in ihren Songs erzählen. Die beiden sind gerne in der Natur und sagen, dass die Natur einen grossen Einfluss auf ihre Musik hat trotzdem können die beiden nicht ohne die Grossstadt. Sie benötigen einen starken Kontrast in ihrem alltäglichen Leben sowie auch in der Musik. Wenn wir über Kontraste sprechen bestätigen beide Musiker, dass es um die Balance zwischen Entspannung und Spannung geht, um gute Musik zu produzieren. Das roh klingende Album welches grössten Teils in der Nacht produziert wurde in einer Intimen Atmosphäre handelt sich um Shakras, Mantras, Innere Stimmen, Geschichten, Gefühle und Erfahrungen welche die beiden in der Vergangenheit gemacht haben. Ihre bisherigen Produktionen waren vorwiegend club orientierte Techno Tracks das Album aber ist softer, romantischer und intimer, ein gefühlsvolles Album mit sogenannten “human made errors”. Die beiden betonen immer wieder das sie nicht nach den perfekten Sounds strebten sondern nach den perfekten Tracks. 2017 wird das bis jetzt wichtigste Jahr für Motrade und um das beste rauszuholen haben die beiden Anfang des Jahres ihre Koffer gepackt und sind nach Zürich gezogen. Nebst dem Release von Lovers & Angels werden die beiden auch auf Tour gehen als two-men elektronische Band und ihr Album Live performen in der Schweiz und Europa. Die ersten Daten werden schon bald bekanntgegeben. Kevin & Anja werden auch in Zukunft keinen Gang runter schalten und konzentrieren sich auf ihr Live Set. Dies wurde seit längerem ausgearbeitet um die beiden Facetten eines Musikers zu verbinden – Musik kreieren und performen. Es war für beide von Anfang an klar, dass ihr Live Set die Produktionsumgebung widerspiegeln soll. Mit der
Entwicklung des Album und der Tatsache, dass die Musik mehr Bandcharakter bekommen hat steht nun das perfekte two-men Band Setup mit Live vocals, Gitarre, Bass Gitarre, Keys und e-drum sowie 2 Ableton Push controller mit welchen verschiedenste Clips getriggert werden aber auch Live Sequenzen. Nun ist es an der Zeit ihre Musik zu präsentieren und in verschiedenen Locations aufzutreten um ihr Talent unter Beweis zu stellen. Das Live Set ist dank seinem flexiblen Aufbau perfekt um die Tracks im Club zu spielen mit strikten 4/4 Patterns und einer höheren BPM aber genauso in einer Konzert Umgebung oder sogar als Ambient Set. Über Motrade: Die Reise des jungen, kreativen Paares startete im Sommer 2010 als Kevin auf der Suche nach einer Sängerin war und Anja kontaktierte. Nach kurzer Zeit wurde aus der musikalischen Zusammenarbeit eine Liebesbeziehung und kurz darauf waren die beiden gemeinsam als DJ's unterwegs. In 2011 zogen die beiden nach Amsterdam für Kevin's "Bachelor in Audio Production" welchen er erfolgreich abschloss bevor die beiden verheiratet wieder in die Schweiz umzogen. Zurück in der Schweiz gründeten die beiden ihre eigene GmbH, starteten eigene Kleidermarken, einen Onlineshop, arbeiteten am Album und 2016 gründeten sie dann ihr eigenes Recordlabel “Subsonic Foundation Records” auf welchem sie ihr Album veröffentlichen. Für 2017 sind noch einige grosse Projekte geplant, eine Plattform für elektronische Musik, Kultur und Kunst in der Schweiz welche Events und Workshops veranstaltet, Mode kreiert und einen Platz für Menschen bietet mit den selben Visionen. Die beiden sind aktuell schon wieder im Studio und arbeiten an neuen EP's und Tracks welche auf Subsonic Foundation Records so wie auch auf anderen Labels veröffentlich werden.
Als Nebenprojekt produzieren sie unter dem Namen “MTRD” Techno Musik. Als MTRD konnte Motrade in 2016 auf dem legendären Niederländischen Label "Planet Rhythm" releasen.
