GENERAL CONDITIONS OF ENTRY THE PHOTO ART CHAMPIONSHIP is an annual event and consists out of three sections: we offer a general section, in which the participants can enter photography of any kind of theme. For example: portrait, nude, people, landscape, travel photography, architecture, stillife photography, humour, children, experimental, etc. And there are two special themes, for 2013 we have chosen the theme “NATURE” and “WATER”. This exhibition is open to everyone; however, an entry may be rejected when the sponsoring organization or its agent, in its reasonable discretion, believes the entry does not conform to exhibition rules and conditions. The exhibition will be conducted according to PSA regulations. Subject matter is OPEN (PSA PID color) plus there are the 2013 special sections: “NATURE” (PSA ND) and “WATER (PSA PID color)”. There is a maximum of 4 digital files in each of the three themes of the contest. To enter this contest please use our upload: www.photocontest.at or send CD/DVD to Mr. Chris. General section: Any subject, theme or technique is eligible. “Entries must originate as photographs (image-captures of objects via light sensitivity) made by the entrant on photographic emulsion or acquired digitally. By virtue of submitting an entry, the entrant certifies the work as his own and permits the sponsors to reproduce all or part of the entered material free of charge for publication and/or display in media related to the exhibition. This may include low resolution posting on a website. The exhibition assumes no liability for any misuse of copyright. Images may be altered, either electronically or otherwise, by the maker and artwork or computer graphics created by the entrant may be incorporated if the photographic content predominates subject to divisional restrictions”. PSA Nature definition: Nature photography is restricted to the use of the photographic process to depict observations from all branches of natural history, except anthropology and archeology, in such a fashion that a well-informed person will be able to identify the subject material and to certify as to its honest presentation. The story telling value of a photograph must be weighed more than the pictorial quality while maintaining high technical quality. Human elements shall not be present, except where those human elements enhance the nature story. The presence of scientific bands, scientific tags or radio collars on wild animals is permissible. Photographs of artificially produced hybrid plants or animals, mounted specimens, or obviously set arrangements, are ineligible, as is any form of manipulation that alters the truth of the photographic statement. No techniques that add to, relocate, replace, or remove pictorial elements except by cropping are permitted. Techniques that enhance the presentation of the photograph without changing the nature story or the pictorial content are permitted. All adjustments must appear natural. Color images can be converted to grayscale monochrome. Infrared images are not allowed. Water section: The esthetics and enormous importance of water for our daily life is in the center of interest. Show the influence of water on the development of mankind and the environment as well as the meaning of water as source of electric energy. Let us see your best prints and digital files of waterlandscapes, lakes, rivers, oceans, waterfalls and the underwater world. Show us all around water from dusk to dawn! For all those of you who wish to enter we created an upload possibility: www.photocontest.at There you can upload your images, fill in the electronical entry forms and pay after that the entry fee via PayPal to [email protected] or cash by registered letter to Mr. Chris. Hinterobermaier, Postfach 364, A-4010 Linz, Austria/Europe. Follow our instructions step by step, fill in all fields, read carefully. Then it will work easily. DIGITAL FILES: Each author can enter a total of 12 digital files (4 general theme files, 4 nature theme files and 4 water theme files). PLEASE NOTE: We only accept entries through our digital upload or CD/DVD sent by post to our address. Size of digital files: at least 1600x1200 Pixels, but we prefer larger high resolution files. Reason: the digital files will be used for the reproduction in our top quality catalogue. So the larger the files we get from you, the better! IMPORTANT: The file names (titles of your image and the number) must be identical to those you fill in in our entry form. CLUBS: Also clubs can enter their digital files on our upload system and get their special club rate for more than 10 participants. Just follow the instructions for club entries on www.photocontest.at. All entrants must fill in the entry form for each section entered. Club- and group entries are welcome. Use one entry form for each participant. Each participant pays the appropriate entry fee either cash by registered letter to Chris. Your entry grants the Photo Art Championship to reproduce any entry free of charge for catalogue and/or publicity purposes, including newspapers, magazines, the exhibition calendar and all other kind of publications of our partners. The participant accepts this when entering digital files in this contest. The participant is responsible for releases from persons shown in his entry. Maker’s name and address must appear on all items. Notification cards, showing judges scores in accordance with PSA’s rules will be sent to each entrant immediately after judging. Notification cards for oversea entrants will be sent by air mail. All acceptances in this salon will be sent to the PSA for credit towards “Star Rating” and “Who’s Who in Photography”. An marvellous catalogue of excellent printing quality will be published. It will reproduce the outstanding entries of all themes. Beispiel: Landschaftsaufnahmen, Reisefotos, Portraits, Sportfotos, Architektur, Stilleben, Kinderfotos, hunmorvolle Bilder, Experimente, etc. Dazu gibt es zwei weitere Sonderthemen: für 2013 wurden die Themen „NATUR“ (PSA ND) und „WASSER“ (PSA PID Farbe) ausgeschrieben. Es können sowohl im freien Thema als auch in den Sonderthemen „NATUR“ und „WASSER“ jeweils 4 digitale Daten eingereicht werden. Dieser Wettbewerb ist für Amateur- und Profifotografen wie auch für Fotokünstler weltweit ausgeschrieben und wird nach den empfohlenen Richtlinien der PSA und des VÖAV durchgeführt. DIGITALE BILDDATEN: Sie können in allen drei Themen mit digitalen Bilddaten teilnehmen. Dateigrösse: mind. 1600x1200 Pixel, idealerweise sollten die Daten nach Möglichkeit im Format 20x30cm/300dpi (entspricht 3543x2362 Pixel) oder einer vergleichbar guten Auflösung bei andersformatigen Bilddateien entsprechen. Die Dateinamen auf der CD-Rom und deren Reihenfolge müssen mit den Bildtiteln und Bildnummern auf dem Teilnahmeformular übereinstimmen. EINREICHUNGEN ÜBER EMAIL WERDEN NICHT JURIERT! Die Naturfotografie stellt lebende und nicht gezähmte Tiere oder nicht angebaute Pflanzen in ihrer natürlichen Umgebung dar, sowie die Geologie und die große Verschiedenartigkeit der Naturerscheinungen, von den Insekten bis zu den Eisbergen. Fotos von domestizierten Tieren, die in Gehegen gehalten werden oder irgendwo einer Einschränkung unterworfen sind, sowie die von angebauten Pflanzen sind unzulässig. Ein geringer Eingriff des Menschen ist annehmbar, wenn es sich um Naturthemen handelt, die sich einer vom Menschen veränderten Umwelt anpassen oder Naturgewalten wie Orkane und Sturmfluten, die sie zurückerobern. Das Originalfoto muss vom Fotografen aufgenommen worden sein, wobei das fotografische Verfahren unwesentlich ist. Jegliche Manipulation oder Abänderung der Originalaufnahme muss sich auf geringfügiges Retuschieren von Fehlern beschränken und darf auf gar keinen Fall den Inhalt der Originalszene verändern. Beim Thema „Wasser” steht die Ästhetik und lebenswichtige Bedeutung von Wasser als Ursprung allen Lebens im Mittelpunkt. Der Einfluß von Wasser auf die Entwicklung des Menschen und auf die Umwelt ist ebenso Thema wie Wasser als (elektrischer) Energiespender in reinster Form. Wasserlandschaften, Gewässer, Wasserfälle, Seen und Meere, Unterwasseraufnahmen, kurzum: alles rund um’s Wasser ist Zielmotiv dieses Themas. Jeder Einsender hat die Teilnahmegebühr für diesen Wettbewerb entweder bar in einem Kuvert (an Chris. Hinterobermaier, Postfach 364, 4010 Linz, Austria) oder via Paypal an [email protected] zu bezahlen. Ein Thema: € 25 Fotoklubs mit mindestens 10 Teilnehmern: ein Thema / pro Einsender: € 20 Zwei Themen: € 30 Zwei Themen / pro Einsender: € 25 Alle drei Themen: € 35 Alel drei Themen / pro Einsender: € 30 Alle Einsendungen müssen vom Teilnehmer selbst angefertigt oder fotografiert worden sein. Die eingereichten digitalen Daten können im Zusammenhang mit dem Wettbewerb und der Werbung für dieses Ereignis im Buch des Wettbewerbes, am Ausstellungsposter, in Zeitungen, Magazinen, dem Ausstellungskalender, Druckwerken und sonstigen Publikationen unserer Partner kostenlos verwendet werden. Der Autor akzeptiert durch seine Teilnahme am Wettbewerb diese Bedingungen. Die auf den digitalen Daten dargestellten Personen sind damit einverstanden, daß diese Arbeiten allenfalls veröffentlicht werden; die Verantwortung dafür trägt der Teilnehmer am Wettbewerb und bestätigt dies durch seine Teilnahme am Wettbewerb, wie er dadurch auch seine alleinige Urheberschaft an den eingereichten Arbeiten bestätigt. Der Rechtsweg ist in allen Belangen des Wettbewerbes ausgeschlossen. Ergebniskarten werden nach Abschluss der Jurysitzung an alle Teilnehmer versandt. Alle Annahmen des Wettbewerbes werden der PSA gemeldet, um eine Berücksichtigung für das “who’s who” und “star rating” zu ermöglichen. Ebenso zählen die Annahmen des Wettbewerbes für Ehrentitelansuchen beim VÖAV. Zu diesem Wettbewerb wird ein erstklassiger Katalog aufgelegt, in dem eine Auswahl der besten angenommenen und ausgezeichneten Arbeiten in exzellenter Druckqualität wiedergegeben wird. Jeder Einsender, der die Teilnahmegebühr bezahlt hat, erhält diesen Katalog zugestellt. Jurymitglieder: Chris.
