Joanne Mourikes Rice, Principal November 6, 2015 Dear ECC Families, Our students enjoyed the beautiful weather at the start of the week. It was wonderful to see so many families take advantage of our park that stays open after dismissal time in the morning from 10:50 to 11:20, and again in the afternoon from 2:45 to 3:10. We have a big week coming up…. On Monday and Tuesday we have our fall Parent Teacher conferences. Teacher schedules are always full, so please make sure to arrive promptly. These conferences are a wonderful opportunity to learn about your child’s strengths and area in which you can support your child. Also remember that ECC teachers can be reached with phone messages and email whenever you have a question about your child. We look forward to seeing all our parents! Our ECC PTO has also organized a wonder Scholastic Book Fair for us during these fall conferences. Please give yourself a little extra time when you come for your conference to stop by the all purpose room and purchase some good books for your family. It is also not too early to start thinking about holiday gifts. There will be a wide selection of children’s books, Spanish language books, cook books and more….. Friday, November 13th is the ECC Picture Retake Day. If you have already received your pictures, but want to retake them, please send in the original pictures with your child in order to retake the shot. If this will be your child’s first time taking a photo, make sure you send in your picture order form by Friday. Stop by the office if you need an order form. Our Kindergarten Stars of the Week are- Giselle Baran, Izabella McFadden, Wiktoria Samojlik, Sofia Centeno, Gianni Klemenko, Daniah Alzahrani, and Alexander Faivre Our PreK Stars of the Week are- Ayham Obeidallah, Jawid Safdary, Filip Suk, Alex Ptak, Macdara McDonagh, Sofia Marquez, and Emily Stieber Marilyn Byrne has been part of the Elmwood Park School District for 18 years. This summer she traveled to Florida with her sister and to Alabama to visit her daughter and son-in-law. She also enjoyed several country music concerts! Mrs. Byrne is an enthusiastic walker. She takes long walks around Elmwood Park and walks to school every day! Her favorite activities include gardening, baking, and crafting. There is No School on Wednesday, November 11 in honor of Veterans Day. Please remember that for the upcoming Thanksgiving Holiday, there will be no classes on Wednesday, 11/25, Thursday, 11/26 and Friday, 11/27. School will resume Monday, November 30th.

Joanne Mourikes Rice Directora Estimadas Familias del Centro ECC, Nuestros estudiantes comenzaron la semana disfrutando de un clima formidable. Fue maravilloso ver a tantas familias aprovecharse de nuestro parque de recreo que permanece abierto después de la salida de clases en la mañana de 10:50 a 11:20 y de nuevo en la tarde de 2:45 a 3:10. Tenemos una grandiosa semana por venir…. El lunes y el martes tendremos nuestras conferencias de padres y maestros de otoño. Los horarios de las maestras están siempre llenos, es por eso que le pedimos que por favor sea puntual y llegue a tiempo. Estas conferencias son una maravillosa oportunidad para aprender sobre las áreas fuertes de su niño/a y las áreas en las cuales usted puede darle más ayuda. Además recuerde que puede comunicarse con las maestras del Centro ECC, por medio de mensajes de texto y correo electrónico, cuando usted tenga preguntas sobre su hijo/a. ¡Estamos ansiosos de ver a todos nuestros padres! Nuestra PTO del Centro ECC ha organizado una maravillosa Feria de Libros Escolares, que estará disponible durante estas conferencias de otoño. Por favor saque un poco de tiempo extra cuando venga para sus conferencias para visitar el cuarto Multiusos y comprar algunos buenos libros para su familia. No es muy temprano para pensar en regalos para las fiestas venideras. Habrá una gran selección de libros para niños, libros en español, libros de recetas de cocina y mucho más… El viernes 13 de noviembre es el Día de Retoma de Fotografías del Centro ECC. Si usted ya recibió sus fotos y quiere retomar las fotos, por favor envié las fotos originales junto con la orden de su niño/a para retoma de fotos. Si esta va a ser la primera vez que su hijo/a se va a fotografiar, asegúrese de enviar la forma para las fotos antes del viernes. Si necesita una forma para las fotografías, por favor pase por la oficina. Este pasado verano ella viajo a la Florida con su hermana y también a Alabama para visitar a su hija y su yerno. ¡También disfruto de varios conciertos de música country! A la Señora Byrne le encanta caminar. ¡Ella toma largas caminatas alrededor de Elmwood Park y camina a la escuela todos los días! Sus actividades favoritas incluyen jardinería, hornear y hacer manualidades. Por favor no se olvide que la semana de El Día de Acción de Gracias venidero, no habrá clases el miércoles 11/25, jueves, 11/26 y viernes 11/27. Jak zawsze, milo nam bylo widziec wielu rodzicow i dzieci korzystajacych z przyszkolnego placu zabaw. Otwieramy go dla wszystkich po zajeciach szkolnych, w godzinach od 10:50 do 11:20 i po poludniu od 2:45 do 3:10. Nadchodzacy tydzien bedzie wyjatkowo wazny... W poniedzialek i we wtorek odbeda sie Konferencje Rodzicow i Nauczycieli. Nauczyciele maja spotkania co pietnascie minut, wiec prosimy Panstwa o punktualne przybycie.
