Monthly oil price statistics

KEY TRENDS 

Average crude oil import costs for IEA countries in July 2017 showed no change  from the previous month, as import cost increased in Europe and decreased in  Japan and North America. Overall import costs were 2.5 USD per barrel higher than  in July 2016.



Due to increases in North America and Europe, gasoline prices in IEA countries rose  by 8% in September 2017 compared to August, the largest monthly price change  since April 2016. Gasoline prices in IEA countries were 16% higher than in  September 2016. 



Automotive diesel prices continued to increase in September 2017, albeit more  moderately compared to gasoline, to a level that was 13% higher than one year  before.
