M2CP Sliding plate valve

Introduction The M2CP sliding plate valve is one of ABB’s chromatograph innovations designed to reduce maintenance and increase analyzer on-line availability. The new 754A003D series design, manufacturing, and materials of construction have been re-evaluated and improved to produce the most reliable and maintenance friendly valve in the industry. The metallurgy and manufacturing of the valve plate has been improved to decrease the possibility of port-to-port leakage and to increase the wear characteristics. The final step in manufacturing the valve plate is heat treating to reduce the internal stress of the valve structure after installation in an analyzer. The valve utilizes a low maintenance piston actuator and a unique slider-carriage design to seal the valve connections through equalizing load force over the valve surface. Over valve operation time, constant force is maintained regardless of slider status, valve position, or position during the transition state. Using the M2CP valve, analyzer downtime is no longer a function of valve repair or adjustment because this valve has the lowest MTTR in the industry. To compensate for slider wear, slider tension is preloaded and automatically maintained over time. Also, slider replacement can be performed in seconds without tools and the slider alignment is automatic with the design of the slider carriage. Specifications Actuation:

Applications A single valve design accommodates either packed or capillary columns with optimum performance in both systems. The design objective of the M2CP valve slider is to have the longest wear characteristic while meeting the sealing requirements for the application. The factory objectives are to match slider materials and applications to maximize application performance. The sliders have been designed to accommodate for thermal expansion due to the oven temperature and will fit looser in a M2CP valve at room temperature. ABB is continually looking at new slider materials for enhanced performance and as they become available new part numbers will be released. Below is a table of sliders and materials available:
