P REPARING FOR THE C ONSECRATION OF THE A RCHDIOCESE OF S AN F RANCISCO TO THE I MMACULATE H EART OF M ARY Part 41 IT WAS AFTER THIS FIRST HOSPITALIZATION THAT OUR LADY revealed to Jacinta that she would undergo the suffering of dying alone. In this, the nine-year-old saint was to be conformed to the lonely and abandoned Crucified Lord. "Lucia," she related to her cousin, sobbing, "Our Lady told me that I'm going to go to another hospital in Lisbon and that I'll never see you again or my parents and that after suffering a great deal, I shall die alone. She said that I should not be afraid since she will come to take me with her to Heaven. I will never see you again. Pray a lot for me for I am going to die alone." St. Jacinta was deeply saddened by the thought of dying alone. One time, Lucia found her, speaking to Our Lady, "My dear little Mother, so I am going to die alone?" Lucia reminded her that Our Lady would always be with her and that she would come to take her to Heaven. It was Lucia, then, who had reason to be sorrowful, for she had to remain in this valley of tears. "Poor thing. Don't cry, Lucia," Jacinta said, comforting her. "I shall pray a lot in Heaven for you. You are going to stay here, but it is Our Lady who wants it." The two little girls were deeply surrendered to the Will of God, trusting completely in His Providence. They found their joy only in spiritual things. "Jacinta, what are you going to do in Heaven?" "I'm going to love Jesus a lot, and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, and pray and pray for you, for the Holy Father, my parents, brothers, sisters, and for everyone who asked me and for sinners. I love to suffer for the love of Our Lord and Our Lady. They love those who suffer for the conversion of sinners." †

FUE DESPUÉS DE ESTA PRIMERA HOSPITALIZACIÓN QUE NUESTRA SEÑORA reveló a Jacinta que ella sufriría el sufrimiento de morir sola. En esto, la santa de nueve años debería de conformarse a estar sola y abandonada al Señor Crucificado. "Jacinta", relató a su primo, sollozando, "Nuestra Señora me dijo que voy a ir a otro hospital de Lisboa y que no volveré a verte a ti ni a mis padres y que después de sufrir mucho, moriría sola, dijo que no tendría miedo, ya que ella vendrá a llevarme con ella al Cielo. Yo no volveré a verte jamás. Reza mucho por mí, porque yo voy a morir sola". Santa Jacinta estaba profundamente entristecida por la idea de morir sola. Una vez, Lucía la encontró, hablando a Nuestra Señora, "Mi querida pequeña Madre, ¿así que voy a morir sola?" Lucía le recordó que Nuestra Señora estaría siempre con ella y que ella vendría a llevarla al Cielo. Era Lucia, pues, la que tenía razones para estar triste, porque tenía que permanecer en este valle de lágrimas. -Pobrecita, no llores, Lucía -dijo Jacinta, consolándola-. "Rezaré mucho en el Cielo por ti, te vas a quedar aquí, pero es Nuestra Señora quien lo quiere". Las dos niñas se entregaron profundamente a la Voluntad de Dios, confiando completamente en Su Providencia. Encontraron su gozo sólo en cosas espirituales. "Jacinta, ¿qué vas a hacer en el cielo?" "Yo amare mucho a Jesús, y a el Corazón Inmaculado de María, y rezare y rezare por ustedes, por el Santo Padre, por mis padres, hermanos, por todos los que me pidieron y por los pecadores. Yo amo sufrir por el amor de Nuestro Señor y de Nuestra Señora. Ellos aman a los que sufren por la conversión de los pecadores” †
