A³ im Zentrum des Innovationsmotors Bayern – Investieren Next Door to Munich A3 in the centre of the Bavarian Innovation Engine – Invest Next Door to Munich A³ liegt direkt auf der Wachstumsachse München-Stuttgart und der Europamagistrale Paris-Wien-Budapest. Die zentrale Lage bietet ideale Voraussetzungen für den nationalen und internationalen Gütertransport. Zwei internationale Flughäfen, München und Stuttgart, sind in einer bzw. eineinhalb Stunden erreichbar, der Münchner Hauptbahnhof mit dem ICE in nur 33 Minuten. A³ is located directly at the growth axis Munich-Stuttgart and the European axis Paris – Vienna – Budapest. This central location offers ideal conditions for national and international freight transport. Two international airports, Stuttgart and Munich, are reachable within one hour, Munich´s main train station using the ICE train is just 33 minutes away.

Überdurchschnittliche Bevölkerungsentwicklung – Investieren in einer Boomregion Above average population growth – invest in a boom region

Seit 1995 ist die Bevölkerung im Wirtschaftsraum Augsburg um 4,7 % gewachsen. Der stabile Wachstumstrend wird sich fortsetzen: Bis zum Jahr 2023 sind für den Wirtschaftsraum Augsburg weitere 4 % Bevölkerungswachstum prognostiziert. Augsburg hebt sich damit positiv vom bundesdeutschen Trend ab: Für Deutschland wird laut der 11. Koordinierten Bevölkerungsvorausberechnung eine Schrumpfung der Gesamtbevölkerung zwischen 1,8 und 3,8 % prognostiziert.

The population in the Augsburg economic area has increased by 4.7 % since 1995. The stable growth trend is set to continue: The forecasts are for another 4 % growth in population for the Augsburg economic area by 2023. This means Augsburg is positively bucking the trend across Germany. According to the 11. Coordinated Population Prediction, the overall population of Germany is forecast to shrink by between 1.8 and 3.8 %.

Seit ihrem Start im Oktober 1991 ist die interlift kontinuierlich gewachsen. GrindTec – Internationale Fachmesse für Schleiftechnik

GrindTec International Grinding Technology Fair

Die GrindTec ist eine internationale Fachmesse für Schleiftechnik in Augsburg. Fachleute aus aller Welt informieren sich auf der GrindTec über Innovationen und die neuesten Trends in der Schleiftechnik. Die GrindTec bietet heute die komplette Peripherie, die der Werkzeughersteller benötigt. Sie findet seit 1998 im zweijährigen Turnus im Messegelände Augsburg statt und wird von der AFAG Messen und Ausstellungen GmbH ausgerichtet. Fachlicher Träger der Veranstaltung ist der Fachverband Deutscher Präzisions-Werkzeugschleifer.

GrindTec is a specialist international grinding fair held in Augsburg. Specialists from all over the world find out about innovations and the latest trends in grinding technology at GrindTec. Today, GrindTec offers all the peripherals that tool manufacturers need. It has taken place every two years since 1998 at the Augsburg showground and is organised by AFAG Messen und Ausstellungen GmbH. Der 6. Kongress „Umwelt Innovativ“ stand im November 2006 ganz im Zeichen innovativer Abfalltechnologien unter dem Motto „Reststoff zu Rohstoff“. Im Mittelpunkt standen zukunftsweisende Strategien und innovative Technologien zur stofflichen und energetischen Verwertung von Abfällen sowie zur Gewinnung und Nutzung von sekundären Rohstoffen. Unter den 270 Teilnehmern und 27 Ausstellern befanden sich namhafte Firmen und Institute. Unterstützt wurden die Veranstalter von den Staatsministerien für Wirtschaft, Infrastruktur & Verkehr sowie für Umwelt, Gesundheit & Verbraucherschutz.

The 6th “Innovative Environment” conference in November 2006 focused on innovative waste technologies, with the motto “Waste to raw material”. The focus was on pioneering strategies and innovative technologies for reusing materials and energy in waste products and to extract and utilise secondary materials. There were leading companies and institutes among the 270 participants and 27 exhibitors. The event organisers were supported by the Federal Ministries for the Economy, Infrastructure and Transport and for the Environment, Health and Consumer Protection.

Zusätzlich liefert das UTG ergänzende Serviceleistungen, z.B. einen zentralen Sekretariatsdienst, diverse Beratungsleistungen und mit moderner Technik ausgestattete Präsentationsräume. Vernetzung und Kommunikation innerhalb des UTG sind weitere Benefits für Firmen. Wichtige Ziele sind die Schaffung hochwertiger Arbeitsplätze im zukunftsträchtigen Umwelt-Technologiemarkt, die Ansiedlung ausländischer Firmen und die Unterstützung beim Aufbau eines europäischen Umweltkompetenzzentrums in Augsburg-Schwaben. Rund 38 Unternehmen mit etwa 220 Mitarbeitern werden derzeit im UTG betreut. Davon können ca. 90 % direkt der Umwelttechnologie-Branche zugerechnet werden.

As Europe’s only startup centre for environmental technology, UTG has been looking after young and startup companies since 1998, supporting the setup and development of their companies in the startup phase. The UTG also provides additional services, such as a central secretarial service, various consultancy services and presentation rooms kitted out with state of the art technology. Networking and communication within the UTG are further benefits for companies. Important objectives include the creation of top-notch positions in the pioneering environmental technology market, settlement of foreign companies and support in setting up a European environment centre of excellence in Augsburg, Swabia. Around 38 companies with some 220 employees are currently supported within the UTG. Approx. 90 % can be assigned directly to the environmental technology sector.

Im Wirtschaftsraum Augsburg steht ein erstklassiges Netzwerk aus Kompetenzträgern aus Wissenschaft und Forschung zur Verfügung. Im Bereich Wissens- und Technologietransfer in die Unternehmen ist die Region besonders aktiv: Maßgeschneiderte Kooperationsprojekte mit Hochschulen, Anwenderzentren und Transfereinrichtungen sind jederzeit möglich. Über die unten genannten Transfer- und Forschungseinrichtungen hinaus, steht die Ansiedlung von drei weiteren Forschungseinrichtungen bevor: Zwei Wissenschaftlergruppen der Fraunhofer Gesellschaft, die sich mit den Themen Faserverbundtechnologie und Mechatronik befassen, sowie eine Forschergruppe des Deutschen Zentrums für Luft- und Raumfahrt (DLR), die sich mit dem Thema Leichtbau für den Flugzeugbau befasst.

In the Augsburg economic area, there is a first-class network of experts from science and research available. The region is especially active when it comes to science and technology transfer to the companies: Tailored cooperation projects with universities, user centres and transfer facilities are possible at all times. Over and above the transfer and research facilities mentioned above, there are three more research bodies planning to settle in the area: Two groups of scientists from the Fraunhofer Institute focussing on fibre compound technology and mechatronics and a group of researches from the German Aerospace Centre (DLR) focussing on lightweight aircraft design.

Augsburg – günstigste Nebenkosten aller deutschen Großstädte Augsburg – the most affordable subsidiary costs of any German city

Die Nebenkosten für Häuser und Wohnungen sind in Augsburg so günstig wie in keiner anderen deutschen Großstadt. Im Preisvergleich für Wasser, Strom, Gas, Abwasser und Müllabfuhr des Verbraucher-Magazins Öko-Test erreichte Augsburg im Februar 2008 Platz 1 unter allen deutschen Städten.

The auxiliary costs for houses and flats are more affordable in Augsburg than in any other German city. In a price comparison on water, electricity, gas, sewage and waste disposal carried out by the consumer magazine Öko-Test in February 2008, Augsburg beat all other German cities to the top spot.
