CRANEÓN is a spanish rock band from Madrid, Spain, composed by guitarist-vocalist Juanjo de Latorre, drummer José Luis Serzo and bassist Javier Schoendorff. Formed in 2006 by Juanjo, bassist Diego Noyola and drummer Óscar Muñoz from the ashes of Grúpez –which featured Serzo on drums and Héctor Ordás on bass-, the band started blending heavy duty riffing, dense atmospheres and ethereal ambiences, progressive dynamics, sick grooves, soulful vocals and evoking spanish lyrics. The band went through numerous lineup changes and toured the country several times. After recording two demos they released an EP, “Avanza” (spanish for “Move forward”) in 2012. Though this long-distance race, they shared the stage with many international bands as the legendary Karma to Burn (USA), Pendejo (Holland), Deville (Sweden), Been Obscene (Austria) or Taura (Argentina), took part in several festivals and even created their own: “Riffolución: Festival de Hard Rock Iberoamericano". During the summer of 2013, CRANEÓN entered the studio to record their first full-length album, “Hacia el Sol” (spanish for “Towards the Sun”), produced by Christophe R. Moure, Manuel Cabezalí (guitarist, vocalist and producer in the renowned spanish band Havalina) and the band at Conladiva Studios in Madrid. The album was released on April 29 2014 through the independent label Anomia and features amazing guest appearances by El Pastuso, lead singer of the dutch band Pendejo on vocals and trumpet, Manuel Cabezalí on guitar, and the hypnotic artwork of the incredible artist Santiago Talavera. Mondosonoro magazine offered an exclusive pre-release stream on their site and later gave the band a special mention on their best metal albums of 2014. “Hacia el Sol” was chosen as one of the best records of the year by music sites as LaHabitación235, Subnoise, HRB, RedHardNHeavy and Distrito Uve. Craneón will close the year with a France Tour alongside the band Soundcrawler. “Hacia el Sol” is a strong mission statement on both conceptual and sonic structure levels. It shows three musicians with a strong personality and on a constant state of growth, as shown in both their creative songwriting and arranging style, as well as the intense and rich instrumentation and vocals, the latter being used as an instrument or as a channel for their passionate lyrics.

Puntuación: 8/10” Subnoise.es “The debut album from Craneón rolls smoothly out with fluid harmonies and detailed productionwork clearing the way for their heart-felt grooves and thundering presence. Opening with the title track, the band quickly demonstrates their facility in blending together a wide variety of styles and influences, raising up a shimmering concoction of solar-fueled rock with a disregard for rules. […]The group has a truly impressive range, and while fuzzy hard rock anchors most of the album, they ride it out on such successfully experimental jaunts into various off-shoots that I never felt as though they were repeating themselves. There's a pleasing warmth to the music, fitting with the title, and the musicians all play with such confidence and mutual enrichment that it's hard to believe this is their first release together. A damn fine start to this band's career, and (assuming you like most of what we share with you here) one certainly worth your time to hear.” RideWithTheDevil (USA)
