Gottex Fund Management Holdings Limited, an independent provider of global asset management solutions, issues this update concerning a number of commercial developments at the firm as it approaches the end of 2015. Maximilian Gottschalk has resigned as an Executive Director of Gottex and as a member of the Gottex Executive Management Committee. The Board of Directors of Gottex thanks Mr. M. Gottschalk for his many years of service to the company. In the course of tightening its financial controls, Gottex has detected an isolated instance of improper business conduct that involved the misappropriation of some of Gottex’s corporate assets by a former employee. The incident occurred in one of Gottex’s U.S. subsidiaries between 2013 and 2015. The investigation, led by Pierre Udriot, Gottex’s new Chief Financial Officer since 16 November 2015, has discovered that the sum involved was under USD 3m. No client assets were involved and the employee no longer works for Gottex. The process of recovering assets has already begun. “I am very pleased that our strengthened internal controls have enabled us to identify this incident and take corrective action”, commented Mr. Arpad Busson, Executive Chairman of Gottex since 14 July 2015. Gottex is entering into an agreement to spin off the Asian-focused Penjing asset management business into a separate entity. Gottex will retain a minority equity interest in the new business, which will be led by Mr. Ronnie Wu and the executive management team of Penjing. Mr. Busson looks forward to joining the Board of Directors of Penjing and working with Mr. Wu for the mutual benefit of the two firms.
