READING PROGRAM (SRP):

Saturday, June 1- Saturday, July 27th EXCITEMENT AWAITS BLUE ISLAND PATRONS OF ALL ages who participate in the Summer Reading Program. Pick up your reading log at the Reference or Children’s Desk. Receive one raffle ticket for every book read. Prizes will be drawn randomly at the conclusion of summer reading. All participants are invited to the end of Summer Reading Party on July 27th.

T

he library, in conjunction with the Greater Chicago Food Depository, will provide free lunches to individuals ages 18 and under every week at 12-1PM, starting June 10th through August 2nd. All food must be consumed on site. While lunches are served, stay and enjoy fun activities and programs.

Mondays through Thursdays, 3PM. Starting May 1st through July 31st, kids can play board games, puzzles, coloring crafts, Legos and more.

Learn Spanish or English with Duolingo

Monday, May 6th through July 29th, 6PM. Join Duolingo classroom to learn and compete with other children. Small prizes will be awarded monthly to top students. Bring headphones and Duolingo compatible devices, computers and tablets are available on a first come first served basis. Ages 7-14, sign-up is required.
